Iran Reports Attack on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the US has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.
It said wreckage fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
